Who I work with

People who travel on purpose.

You're not a budget traveler, but you're not chasing luxury for its own sake. You've saved up for this experience and you want help deciding where to splurge and where to save.

My clients have opinions: not the most expensive hotel, the right one; not the tourist trap, the place that actually reflects where they are. They're after a trip that gives them something to bring home: stories, a sense of place, an experience that belongs to them and not to a brochure.

I find this kind of trip often coincides with a meaningful moment: the anniversary celebration you've been putting off, a first empty-nester adventure, a college tour with a kid who's almost gone. These are the trips people most want to get right.

How it works

From first call to coming home.

  1. A free 30-minute discovery call

After you fill out an intake form, we'll talk through your trip plans, your preferences and what will make this a memorable trip for you. We'll check your budget fits your destination and goals, and pick the right tier.

  2. Planning fee and a short agreement

Once we've agreed on a fee, I'll send an invoice and a short agreement. Once that's in place, I start to plan.

  3. Broad strokes

I propose a rough itinerary of destinations and nights, then lodging options. You'll get a shared budget tracker showing what's committed and where you still have room. Dates, flights and lodging get finalized.

  4. All the fun details

Tours, restaurants, what to see and how you'll get from place to place. Your itinerary arrives as a link and a PDF, usually with a short video walking you through it.

  5. Ready to go

I'll check in several times before departure on documents, travel insurance, cell coverage and packing, and we'll make a plan for what to do if anything goes wrong.

  6. After your trip

I always want to see the photos and hear how it went: the good, the bad and the extraordinary. Your feedback gets incorporated when I plan your next trip.

Specialties

A few things I do particularly well.

Rebecca's blue patterned cane leaning against a rolling suitcase on a city sidewalk
Fora accessibility specialist

Accessible travel is personal for me.

I have an energy-limiting chronic illness, walk with a cane, and struggle with distance and stairs, so I know exactly what it means to calculate how much of my daily walking budget will go to just getting to and from the hotel. Add in family members with celiac and neurodivergent kids with real sensory needs when we travel, and I know how many things an accessible trip can involve.

I am a certified accessibility specialist and work closely with other accessibility experts to identify the right hotels, tours and suppliers to match any access needs. If your trip comes with extra challenges, I can help make it seamless.

If accessibility is a factor in your trip, tell me specifically what matters and I'll research accordingly.

Multigenerational travel

Multigenerational trips are logistically complex in ways that aren't always obvious upfront: different mobility needs, different pace preferences, different budgets, sometimes different arrival dates. I'm good at building itineraries that hold together across a group without forcing everyone into the same thing every day.

Visitors at a Japanese shrine

Japan

Some destinations are tricky to plan yourself. Japan is my most frequently booked trip, and I have strong opinions: which regions reward slowing down, how to get away from the Tokyo and Kyoto crowds, how to navigate the rail system, and where to find the Japan that belongs to the people who live there.

New Zealand

My favorite place I've ever been, and I love introducing it to other travelers. Like Japan, it's a complex trip that rewards working with a specialist.

Meet Rebecca

From theater to travel.

I've spent most of my working life as a theater director. The skills transfer: understanding what someone actually wants from an experience, working within real constraints, making sure everything is in place before the curtain goes up.

Questions

Before you reach out.

Why pay a planning fee if you also earn commissions?

The planning fee covers my time: the research, the itinerary building, the back-and-forth until it's right. Hotel commissions come from the hotel, not from you, and they don't affect what I recommend. If a locally owned guesthouse is the right choice but doesn't pay commission, that's what I'll book.

How is this different from using a travel site?

Research and judgment, mostly. I know which hotels actually deliver, which guides are worth hiring, which neighborhoods put you close to what you want, and which must-sees can safely be skipped.

Do you book flights?

Yes, at either level. I book through Fora's flight platform for a $50 fee per ticket, which covers the research, booking and 24/7 emergency support. It makes the most sense for international flights, complicated routings, or premium economy and business class. I can also research flights and you book them yourself.

Let's talk about your trip

We can start wherever you are.

You can reach out with exact dates and destinations, or you can still be at an exploratory stage.

Know where you're going?

Dates, destination, who's coming. A free 30-minute intro call is the best place to start. No commitment required.

Just an idea and a rough season? Tell me what you're picturing in the trip inquiry form and we'll take it from there.

How Far in Advance Should I Plan?

Domestic trips need about three months of advance planning, international ideally six. Cruises and safaris can need a whole year.
